TODAY SUCKS!!! (sucky part 1)
Registration Day
Is a day that I will never ever forget in a long time to come. Well due to various reasons, possibly many stemming from the fact that I’m a typical sheltered kid from Singapore who has never encountered the horrors I am going to mention.
The bicycle Story
We had to ride bikes to school, as it is a half an hour walk to the journalism school. We knew it was going to rain, but we DIDN’T expect it to be so horrifying! The wind was so strong we could hardly move the bikes forward, and the WOSRT thing was, we were expected to ride with one hand, and the other carrying an umbrella!
I tried using my neck to support the umbrella, but my whole umbrella just got whipped far away by the bloody wind.
Even when I used my hand, the wind was so strong it bent my cheap NTUC Fairprice umbrella such that the metal inside is now crooked instead of straight!!
Me and Shui gave up and just rode to school without umbrellas. We got utterly, totally, ridiculously, drenched.
We got our bikes free, passed down from the previous batch, but mine had no pedal. I was wearing boots, so my feet KEPT ON sliding off the bike!! Like, one push, WHEEE!!! Off goes my feet and my balance and oops I become the laughing stock again.
We looked ridiculous when we reached our journalism school.
On the way back, I pushed my bike back till we bought a rain coat. Ever tried pushing a heavy bike with one hand against the horrendous wind with an umbrella in the other hand? My hands froze over, became white, then red, then purple. Every brush against the sharper edges of the umbrella hurt so much I wanted to cry!
It got a bit better with the rain coat. But my hood flew off every-time the wind blew. So I just got wet anyway.
BOOHOO!!!!!
Our School building
Is really, really gorgeous. About 3 times bigger then SCI. well the exterior looks nicer, but we have yet to go inside, so it remains to be seen.
Missed our wonderful WKWSCI building so much when I was there.
Items lost while cycling.
1) My room key. FANTASTIC. Now I need to waste 50 rmb replacing it! It was in my back pocket but it must have fallen out while I was cycling. I cant put it in my bag cause it will de-magnitise my credit cards!!
2) One earring Miak gave me as a Christmas present. It flew off my ear when I was cycling AND I DIDN’T EVEN FEEL IT cause I was chilled to my bone! My ear is now raw and peeling from where it flew off. It hurts. BOOHOO!!
The Weather
They tell me the rain will last for another few weeks. Absolutely fantastic. And that the weather tomorrow will fall to 0 degrees. ZERO DEGREES!!!
My GOSH!!! Its MARCH already!!! Can they give us a break?!?! BOOHOOHOO.
And I’m already running out of money!!!
